Meet Teacher`s Media Company
In 1989, a veteran French teacher in Scottsdale, Arizona, searched for educational videos to enrich his classes. Frustrated at his inability to find quality programs, the teacher and his son started a business to fill that need. On their kitchen table, these inspired entrepreneurs created a plan to offer the most comprehensive selection of videos for French classes.
By 1994, the business had become so large that father and son focused full-time on their business. They added such curriculum areas as Spanish and American History, World History, Science, and English and renamed the diverse business Teacher`s Video Company. Led by the father and son, Teacher`s Video Company became the largest producer and distributor of educational videos in the U.S., serving teachers in every discipline in almost every American school. In 2000, School Specialty, Inc., the nation`s largest school supplier, acquired the company.
School Specialty put its considerable resources into growing the business. Offerings now exist in all areas of core curriculum, and student health and wellness. No longer just a video company, programs became available through DVDs, books, transparencies, pamphlets and posters. In fact, Teacher`s Video Company was renamed Teacher`s Media Company to better reflect the breadth of media provided to educators everywhere.
Then in 2008, AIM Education, Inc., a division of the international AIM Learning Group, Inc., acquired Teacher's Media Company, along with Sunburst Visual Media and the Learn360 video streaming service. Based in Plainview, NY, this visual media publisher and distributor supports educators by offering supplemental curriculum, guidance, and health products to help students achieve academically, socially, and emotionally.
We at Teacher's Media are proud to announce that we are taking some environmentally-friendly measures to help preserve our planet for our children's future. By making smarter use of media such as our websites and product packaging, we will reduce the amount of paper we use and save precious trees. In addition, many of our titles are now being offered digitally through our new video streaming service, Learn360.
We want to assure educators that our products will continue to provide the same high quality that they expect from Teacher's Media. We hope you will join us in our initiative to reduce paper waste and we thank you for your support.
